Ainslie Avenue has been reopened after a unit fire caused the busy road to close for close to two hours on Friday afternoon (26 April).

ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing attended the scene of a ground floor unit fire on Ainslie Avenue, Reid.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which caused serious damage to the apartment.

Two people were assessed and treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Atmospheric monitoring and air ventilation operations were undertaken to ensure the area was safe before residents reoccupied the apartment complex.
