hellosQuare recordings in conjunction with the Street Theatre present Alister Spence, Mandala Trap and Ambrose Chapel.

Friday May 21, 8pm @ The Street Theatre

Acclaimed jazz pianist Alister Spence performs a rare solo set accompanied by the Super16mm film projections of Louise Curham, coming off a series of shows with Laughing Clowns and the release of his trio’s most recent album ‘fit’.

Mandala Trap (featuring Jeff Burch from much feted guitar pop group Songs and electronics whiz Pimmon) bring their lovely tone and drone improvisations while Ambrose Chapel (Ian Rogers from No Anchor and ex-Iron On) comes down from Brisbane with a world of icy soundscapes.

Opening the night is local pianist Austin Buckett in duo with Luke Penders, a unique collaboration that uses the acoustics of the upright piano alongside reel-to-reel tape manipulation.

Bookings – 6247 1223 / www.thestreet.org.au | Standard $20 | Concession $15
