Signets in Commonwealth Park (Canon EF100mm Macro, 1/250, ISO 200)(Copyright 2007)

Floriade is without a doubt a popular and colourful display of flowers. After taking some 350 shots, it was nice to take a break from photographing the tulips and bees and take a minute to capture these signets paddling in the pond at Commonwealth Park.

Thanks asp. Watermarking is fine by me if you really want to - but perhaps just leave that off, and request acknowledgement if people want to copy and send your work on to others. It's certainly a way to get a profile and a following, and build up toward earning money from commercially viable and valuable images. Plus you won't get flamed by the jealous!

Asp - nice work, pity its not up any more.

We like to run the site free and open, and will continue to do so. Sometimes you will put your heart out there and it will get stomped on. Hope to see more of your work in the future.

No offence asp but there were two things about your post that got you the reactions...

the wanky data. no-one gives a flying toss about it. best to not post such wankisms unless you're posting at an anal photo comp site

watermarking an image that at best was a snapshot. nice snapshot but not world-beating. and as for your bleat about someone entering your pic and winning $50, two things come to, you didn't have the foresight or imagination to submit it yourself, and two, it should make you just feel all warm and fuzzy proud to know your pic made it even though someone else entered it. I doubt you thought to yourself as you squeezed the shutter "this shot might win me dollars at an obscure photo comp one day"

Anyway there it is in a nutshell, don't be so dweeby, wanky and stop acting like a dog-in-the-manger and you'll get on here a whole lot better

Unfortunately, with a site of this nature, your get your mature debates along with your low brow trolls. It the price we pay for an open forum.

HA, keep it on topic or you'll be moderated out.

Perhaps you should "stick to forums which aren’t so low-brow. then?

very mature. No longer is it a mature forum to express views, debate local issues and display facets of our city.
