In 2012 the Australian National University Football Club (ANU FC) celebrates its 50th Anniversary as the home of football for ANU students, staff, alumni and lovers of the beautiful game. From humble beginnings in 1962, the club has grown to become an ACT football powerhouse claiming the Capital Football Club Championship in 2011.
On Saturday 9 June 2012 (the Queens Birthday long weekend), the club will hold a Gala Dinner to celebrate our history and bring together past members. ANU FC is hoping to reach as many former players as possible in the coming weeks.
Over five decades the club has been privileged to claim high profile Australians and Canberrans such as Charlie Perkins, Senator the Hon Stephen Conroy, and Mr Shane Rattenbury as members. We have also had former Socceroos Steve Hogg and Danny Moulis take the park for the mighty blue and white as well as young guns Tom Rogic (now at Central Coast Mariners) and Luke Pilkington (formerly of Melbourne Victory).
Details: Tickets are $90 and include dinner and drinks as well as a trip down memory lane. Start is 7pm at Ainslie FC. If you are interested in attending please email 50thAnniversary@anufc.org.au.
