Appeal to jogger who may have witnessed indecent act towards fishing teenagers

ACT Policing wants to speak with an unknown jogger who’s believed to have witnessed an alleged act of indecency in Coombs.

Three teenagers were fishing on the Molonglo River at about 1 pm on Monday (22 April) when they noticed a man nearby.

It’s alleged this man committed an indecent act but was disturbed by a passer-by who was jogging in the area.

ACT Policing has appealed directly to the jogger to help them with their investigation and has released a grainy image showing a man in a pink top and dark pants.

“If you are the person depicted in the image, please contact Crime Stoppers. Information can be provided anonymously,” a statement read.

The man accused of the indecent act is described as being between 40 and 50 years of age, with grey hair, and was wearing beige pants at the time of the alleged offence.

Anyone else who was on the Bicentennial National Trail in the vicinity of the Molonglo River and witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference 7730982.
