Police are searching for a man they believe allegedly committed an indecent assault in the Canberra Centre last week.

It’s understood the man entered the shopping centre on foot from Ainslie Avenue at about 5:50 pm on Tuesday (27 June) before crossing Bunda Street.

It’s alleged he then committed an indecent act on a woman outside the hallway leading to the toilets near Bunda Street before leaving the area on foot.

Police wish to speak to anyone who can identify the man from the CCTV footage.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance with a thin build, dark hair and dark eyes.

He was wearing a dark red jumper, black pants, black shoes, and a black and white beanie at the time of the alleged assault.

Anyone with information that could help police has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference 7469029. Information can be provided anonymously.
