About Cazza

I've been a Canberra resident (Northside) for about 32 years now and love Canberra. Canberra and Perth are to me the best cities in Australia.
I've been involved in my community association (Watson Community Association, WCA) for about 25 years and resigned last year. I am disappointed with the local government and the domination of property developers over community needs and wants, the biggest disappoint I had was the loss of the Australian Heritage Village which I lobbied to retain but property developers triumphed over the community's wishes to keep it.

I am a Director and Business Manager of Ritchies Recycled Bricks salvaging and reselling Canberra Red Bricks and other bricks and Pavers for over 20 yers. Prior to us starting this business Canberra Red Bricks were crushed for road base!!

I am a 10 quid pom who arrived in the 'Lucky Country' in 1964 with my family who relocated from London where we had lived for 9 years after moving there from India - we were a part of the 'White Raj' who left India some years after India's independence. I went back to India - Mumbai, finally in 2012 for some dental work (which I am very happy with) and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. It is rich with culture and teeming with life.

Canberra is to me my perfect home. I love the meld of 'bush' and city. When I first came here in 1989 it took me a while to 'fit' in. This is a place like no other that I have lived in. I have heard people compare it to Washington and Brasilia! It does have similar roots but it is a unique and beautiful place. I really can't imagine not being a part of Canberra, even if I was to move I would always have a place in my heart for Canberra and Canberrans.
