Can anyone confirm what’s happened to Babars in Civic. Has been closed since earlier this week, no signs on the doors to indicate why?

It was back open today like it was never gone…

Any cafe that is called Babar and doesn’t serve elephant is doomed to failure; that is the exact reason I wouldn’t eat there.

But their giraffe dish was Michelin star quality…

I suspect papparich and jamies has killed them off. Not that I’ve been to either, but there are more choices nearby. Grill’d also is better.

Poor service, poor food and over priced. Food riddance.

Another boring, try-hard, poor performer bites the dust.

Not before time either.
Possibly the worst cafe in the City.
Went continually downhill from its opening after moving from the previous location.
You only have to check out the Trip Advisor rating to see the steady decline.
Staff and management were to blame, the food was just OK, if you like dirt in your BaBar Salad.
Good riddance!

If they do go, it’ll be good riddance to more mediocre (aka bad) Canberra rubbish. The service there is slow and rude and the food is barely passable as take-away (but at cafe prices).

I’ve only been there once – waited 30 minutes with no service – staff all behind bar talking – can’t comment on food because I walked out.
I think they were at Woden once – only tried them there once and managed to get an order in only to find there were no anchovies in the Caesar salad.
Looks like Barbars has gone Byebyes.

I think the lack of comment says it all.
