Body found in search for two fishermen missing in the Snowy Mountains

A body has been found during the search for missing fishermen in the Snowy Mountains.

A NSW Police spokesperson said a search began when the two men did not return home.

“At about 11:15 pm yesterday (6 September), officers from Monaro Police District were notified that two men, both aged 73, had not returned after fishing in Lake Eucambene, near Adaminaby in the Snowy Mountains,” the spokesperson said.

NSW Police, alongside the NSW SES, Westpac Helicopter and Marine Rescue volunteers began to search the area, including the water and nearby bushland.

“He [the body found] has not been formally identified but is believed to be one of the missing men,” the spokesperson said.

“The search is continuing.”
