Booted bunch – the end of an era

RiotACT and Jorian Gardner have had our disagreements over the years.

One thing we have always agreed on is that his “Bunch of Fives” production at the Street Theatre is one of the best things in Canberra and an excellent way to spend a Friday after work.

In the Canberra Review Jorian expresses his disappointment that the show has been axed from the Street Theatre, apparently because it doesn’t meet the “standards” of the new artistic director Caroline Stacey.

Regular large and happy crowds appear to count for little, nor raging sales of food and drink through the theatre’s cafe.

If you’ve enjoyed the show over the last four years the finale is on 8-Dec-06.

It could well be a riot.

this is what pisses me off about Canberra. there’s all this really cool shiite happening and you never hear about it.
Kate Carnell was good at promoting events by various media, which is preferable to reading/hearing about stuff in the nooz after it has been and gone.
