Boy, 10, dies after being hit by ute outside Cobargo home

A ten-year-old boy has died after being hit by a ute outside his home near Cobargo yesterday.

He had been crossing the Bermagui Cobargo Road at about 4.30pm after getting off a school bus when he was struck by the ute, which was travelling west, and suffered fatal head injuries.

The school bus had stopped opposite the front gate to his property.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the boy’s death.

The 21-year-old driver was taken to South East Regional Hospital in Bega for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police from Far South Coast will continue their investigations.
