Thieves have allegedly stolen over $10,000 worth of metal detecting equipment from metal detector and prospecting store Detect A Den overnight.

At least two men gained entry to the Townsville Street business at around 2.40am on Monday morning (11 May 2015) by smashing a window. Security footage has been handed to police.

Detect A Den owner Terry Lemon says that some of the stolen equipment was intended for the store’s upcoming open day on 16 May.

“The timing couldn’t have been worse, but nothing will stop us from going ahead with the open day,” he says.

If you recognise the men in the security footage, please contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
