Yet another long weekend is almost here, with many of us swapping chocolate eggs and hot cross buns for The Last Post and two-up to commemorate our defence men and women both past and serving.
No matter whether you are in the Capital region or down the South Coast, layers will be important when attending dawn services.
“Temperatures overnight in the Canberra, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains will be in the mid-single digits, so definitely grab your gloves, scarves and beanies for Monday (25 April) morning,” Bureau of Meteorology engagement officer Morgan Pumpa said.
“There will be some fog about, so that will make things feel a little damp as well.
“While on the South Coast, it will be a little warmer in the morning, but it still will be in the single digits.”
There will be little variation in daytime temperatures throughout the Anzac long weekend, as a high pressure system south of the Bight slowly moves across eastern Australia.
This is lending itself to settled weather across southern parts of NSW, with a little cloud build up on the coast due to coastal winds.
Nights will continue to be cold, with the chance of some localised frost in the Snowy region.
