Call for witnesses of serious collision following arrest of three men

Three men have been charged with multiple offences following a serious collision at the weekend, and police are now calling for community information about the crash.

Police received multiple reports of a collision between two vehicles on the southbound lanes of Flemington Road near Harrison at about 10:55 pm on Saturday (19 August).

Witnesses said they saw three men get out of a silver Holden Commodore after it collided with a Nissan Leaf that had four people inside.

It is believed the three men ran from the scene, while one of the four people from inside the Nissan received minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Police searched the area and located the three men, but it is alleged none of them nominated the driver of the Holden.

As a result, all three were arrested and charged with failing to provide particulars following a collision, failing to render assistance to an injured person and either refusing to provide a breath sample or drink driving. They are scheduled to appear in court in October.

Police would like to speak to anyone (who has not already spoken to investigators) who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage of the silver Commodore prior to the crash.
