Am I imagining it, or have all the major accidents this year involved an young teenager driving? Seems like it might be time to start charging the parents as well.

Like the recent video of light rail near misses the message seems to be not to drive a white ute.

As a pedestrian trying to cross roads safely, I’ve found utes to be the biggest dangers. They are often driving too fast, not indicating when turning, coming out of nowhere without any warning, abusing me and yelling at me to get out of the way when they suddenly come around the corner as I’m half way across the road. They expect me to know that they are coming when they’re nowhere to be seen as I begin crossing the road, then expecting me to stop in the middle of the road so they don’t have to slow down or wait to turn the corner. Stop and Give way signs are ignored, as are the rules of roundabouts and pedestrian crossings. There seems to be a general lack of consideration for the needs of other road users.
