Can anyone recommend a landscaper?

I need to get some landscaping done and was wondering if anyone could recommend someone who is good and reasonable?

I called a number of companies from the Yellow Pages, but they won’t do a quote on the works. Typically they tell me I have to pay $250 for an hour on site meeting, then $2,000 for a design and after that they will provide a quote to do the construction.

One company told me that they had to have at least two people doing the works due to OH&S and that their hourly rate was $200! I suspect some of these companies are making money from the construction.

Thanks for all the comments 🙂

Why dont you contact CIT Horticulture now Bruce Campus and get some astute landscape Horticulture students to have a go……….

A vote for Craig Tierney Landscaping. Came highly recommended by WSC and after having them do our front yard a while back I can understand why.

Bruceworks in Pialligo. You’ll pay for the quote but they’re good, they show up when they say they will, they give you a detailed quote and the jobs done right.

+1 for Matt from Blades landscaping. Good price and knows his stuff.

Try Justin from ‘Sticks n Stones’ – http://www.snsgd.com.au/

Heard good things about Utopia Landscapes from two, unrelated, sources – 6242 4611.

Heaven on Earth is getting good reports, not perfect but pretty good for a tradie!

As for the kitchen quote above, have you tried Kitchens Direct?

Can I recommend Matt from Blades Landscaping – he did our yard and did a great job for a reasonable price. His number is 0409487278.

In Canberra with an unemployment rate of 3% and an average full time income of $72k good luck getting anyone to do a job thats less than $15k. I have been trying to get my kitchen done for 5 months. Not one company gets back onto me, I would do a night class at cit then do it yourself it will be a lot quicker and definitely cheaper

Gotta agree with KB here… landscaping is pretty easy, as far as ‘do-it-yourself’ goes. (Well apart from the back-breaking labour, but skill-wise, it’s not too hard to figure out).

Those prices you are quoting sound completely extortionate.

$2000 for a design and then the quote comes after… so when they tell you it’s going to cost 25 grand or some nonsense and you decide against it, you’re already down 2 grand…

Any chance you can do it yourself? I won’t pay anyone in the building industry to do anything for me unless I positively have to.
