Can I find a Pint and a live band?

Where can I find some decent live tunes tonight (or tomorrow night for that matter) here in this fine city?

Oh, and when I say tunes, I mean with a drum-set (not a turntable…)

I don’t mean some dude doing a ‘good’ Ian Moss…

And no. I don’t want to ‘Rock Out’

Sophie B Hawkins does NOT count, nor does any other type of mid-80s christian influenced pop (but if that’s your thing – get down to Tilleys)

Suggestions in the box please.

I highly recommend seeing The Stockholm Syndrome, tonight at The Church Bar.
It will be really loud, and some of the support bands are a little mental, but TSS are one of the best bands in Australia as far as im concerned.

Old Canberra Inn generally has good blued on Friday night.

It might be a litte bit close to “rocking out”, but Saturday night at the Pot Belly will see locals foot to the floor, the lavans as well as a bit of stand up comedy from James Brogan.

I haven’t heard Foot to the Floor before, but im told they have a Sleepy Jackson-esque vibe. And you can download a few Mp3’s of the lavans at http://www.thelavans.com – sort of alt rock maybe, but with melody.

Idols of the 80s at the Hellenic club tonight. Has all the people from pseudo echo, brian mannix, and heaps of others. And the support band singer is a buddy of mine (he’s FAB!) and they do stuff from the 90s.
