The Junior Super Clinic will involve a range of cricket activities and the chance to meet your Sydney Thunder heroes.

Opportunities will be available for player signings at the conclusion of the Super Clinic.

“We have terrific support in Canberra, there’s always a fantastic crowd so for the boys to be able to be involved in a clinic there is fantastic,” said head coach Shane Bond.

“I think the guys acknowledge that they’re in a position that some of the kids at the clinic aspire to be in one day and are aware they can play an important role in inspiring the kids.”

This will be the Thunder’s second trip to the capital this season, after the side’s first home match against the Adelaide Strikers at Manuka Oval was abandoned recently due to bushfire smoke.

“We’re acutely aware of the challenges being faced in Canberra and around the country due to the bushfires. Although it has impacted us as a cricket team, it really is nothing compared to what other people are going through,” said Bond.

“Our thoughts are with all the communities affected and with all the firefighters who are working to make sure people across the country are safe. I can’t imagine how dangerous, stressful and tiring it is. I think everyone is extremely grateful for the work they’re doing.”

Sydney Thunder prides itself on having opportunities to meet the players during the season. Players have already taken part in Junior Super Clinics in Drummoyne, Bowral and Camden this season, with sessions in Parramatta (10 Jan) and Penrith (17 Jan) still to come.

The Super Clinic is a free event. Cricket ACT asks for a gold coin donation upon arrival and all proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross.
