The best of the best in Canberra real estate have been honoured at the Real Estate Institute ACT (REIACT) awards.
Now in its 50th year, attendees brought their A-game to the Hotel Realm to celebrate all things great in real estate on Saturday night (31 August).
The hard work of 109 nominees was recognised by more than 400 people in the room.
The Property Collective walked away with three awards, including Residential Property Manager of the Year for Renee Boyle, Marketing and Communications, and Large Residential Agency of the Year, as well as being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Property Collective director and REIACT president Hannah Gill says the event was the biggest and best so far.
“It was completely sold out. We had around 100 more people than last year, which was really exciting,” Hannah says.
“The Property Collective was absolutely thrilled to get as many awards as we did. It’s always nice to know your efforts are recognised.”
“[Property manager] Renee works exceptionally hard and property managers truly are the unsung heroes of the industry, so it’s great she got the acknowledgement she deserves.”
The Property Collective director Will Honey says receiving the awards solidifies the company’s beliefs.
“We believe we are a good team that focuses heavily on working together as a team,” Will says.
“It’s great getting recognition for that because it emphasises how important teamwork is when it comes to running a business.”
Will says the greatest honour of the night was being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
“We have won awards every year since we started, so after getting three, we got the honour, which was absolutely thrilling.”
For the second year running, LJ Hooker Woden franchise manager and owner Jane Macken walked away with the Residential Salesperson of the Year award.
She says she couldn’t have achieved the honour without the support of her team and family.
“I have been doing this for 27 years and love every minute of it,” Jane says.
“I was floored to receive it again and I can’t thank my wonderful team and husband enough for the support.”
Ray White Canberra claimed the prize of Auctioneer Franchise of the Year and sales director and auctioneer Alec Brown says the company is excited that the pride they take in their work has been recognised.
“Auctioneering is a craft; it’s not just shouting at people, so to speak,” Alec says.
“We take a huge amount of pride in what we do to give our buyers and sellers the best quality service possible.
“A lot of our sales are made through auctions and we work hard to make sure the day goes as smoothly as possible for everyone.”
