Capital Football has announced its CEO has officially resigned from his position, with the search for a new person to fill the role to start “immediately”.
In a statement, the organisation noted Ivan Slavich tendered his resignation on 29 September, which the board of directors has accepted.
“The Board would like to thank Ivan for his contribution to Capital Football and football in the region and wishes him all the best on his future endeavours,” the statement said.
“Current head of participation, David Palywoda, will step up into a role as acting general manager, working closely with the board, our strong team of department heads, and our partners to continue the growth of football in our region.”
Mr Slavich had made the threat during a speech at the Senior Awards Ceremony in late September, following the board’s decision to go against his advice regarding the Capital United Academy.
The board had previously announced it would transform the CUA into a Talented Sports Program, which was met with mixed reaction by the community.
Region has reached out to Mr Slavich for comment.
