Centenary of Canberra and MusicACT are kicking off a new battle of the bands competition in September.
It’s called ‘Smells like Centenary Spirit’.
Centenary of Canberra Executive Director, Jeremy Lasek, says the Smells Like Centenary Spirit competition encourages bands and musicians across all genres to get involved.
“From The Gadflys to the church, Canberra has produced some of the country’s best acts,” Mr Lasek said. “This is a great opportunity for our up-and-coming bands to take it to the next level.
“The competition will take expressions of interest from this Saturday, when it kicks off with a youth concert at the Woden Youth Centre between 12pm-7:15pm. The event will include many of the contenders who will battle it out later in the year.”
