The owners of the award-winning and distinctive Nishi building in New Acton are looking for a retailer with a difference that would be the right fit for this unique precinct.

Laing and Simmons Commercial says a premium quality corner retail tenancy is available for lease from September, in the environmentally sustainable iconic building in Canberra’s most awarded and coolest mixed-use precinct.

It says the 99 square metre partially fitted out space at 2 Phillip Law Street, previously occupied by cultural and events consultant Dionysus, boasts an eccentric design, and would suit a ‘quirky’ creative business wanting to make its mark.

Laing and Simmons’ Dan Smart said the space could be the right home for anything from a high-end fashion, shoe, jewellery or accessories business to a vinyl records store or boutique furniture or homewares.

He said it could also suit a wine bar, cafe or restaurant with an unusual offering to enhance the precinct.

There is also the possibility of two complementary businesses sharing the location.

Short-term leases, starting from six months or more are available at $64,350 a year.

The Nishi building is home to the five-star Hotel Ovolo and Monster restaurant, the Palace Electric cinema and a variety of hospitality tenancies.
