Monday

Canberra’s cabaret night with a heart of gold is returning again, and I’ll see you there:

Mondayitis Cabaret are gearing up for another spectacle, this time worshiping at the altar of the gods.
‘Before The Tempest’

This Bacchanal will, of course, be hosted by none other than the god of theatre, wine and ecstatic dance himself; the twice born Dionysus.
Joining our god of ecstasy on the throne is a host of burlesque maenads who will have you weeping with joy as they unveils their forbidden fruits.
Joining Madame Blue for a night on the stage is Cooler Climbs, Canberra’s newest soul/jazz duo, who will entrance you with their musical styling as well as an assembly of equally talented supreme beings.

Give rein to an evening of indulgence, realisation and catharsis!

As always Mondayitis Cabaret is raising money for the ACT Domestic Violence Crisis Service and the fantastic work they do in the region. All funds raised by ‘Before The Tempest’ go to the YPOP program; this is an early intervention therapeutic support program for children and their families who have escaped domestic violence. The funds used will go towards providing therapeutic activities for the children as well as food, transport, clothing and other means of financial assistance that will assist the families to overcome the impact of the experiences they have had living with domestic violence and help them reconnect with their community and rebuild their lives.

Additional donations of art and craft supplies, children games or sporting equipment will be gratefully accepted and passed on to ACT DVCS to support the work of the YPOP program!
Have a dig in your cupboards and see what you have!

All Mondayitis Cabaret events are generously supported by The Abbey Function centre and Elite Sound and Lighting.

‘Before The Tempest’ is also supported by CaptaVitae Photography, Captain Spitfire Photography, Prinstant and Guerrilla Hair.
‘Before the Tempest’ is at the Abbey on Monday July 8th, doors open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start.

Tickets are $10 + booking fee through Eventopia and are $15 at the door. The door staff will also be accepting donations to the ACT Domestic Violence Crisis service on the night.
