The ACT Rural Fire Service will tomorrow, Sunday 17 February, 2013, weather permitting, conduct a hazard reduction burn at Simpsons Hill, near Heagney Crescent, Chisholm.

The burn will commence from 10am to 5pm.

Six heavy tankers, four command vehicles and 40 personnel will conduct the burn, approximately seven hectares in size.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is K15.

The purpose of the burn is to reduce a fire hazard.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
