This year it’s just the two of us, so I’m wondering if folk have any suggestions for a decent restaurant for Chrissie lunch. Not the Hyatt (some very bad reports of long lines and little food), and not the Southern Cross (Love ’em, but not today thanks). If it’s Asian or non roast turkey and veggies, so much the better.

Rock on peoples …

I had a nice christmas dinner at Bellucis in Dickson the other day. If they are open for lunch they would get my vote. The food was perfect and the service was the best I’ve experienced in Canberra since I’ve been here.

sukothai in yarralumla has done xmas dinner 5 course meal asian style a few years ago.

asian good? tak kee at dickson is open on christmas day (usually get my duck for pancakes on the day if i’m in canberra – fresh as!) and i imagine there will be several places open on woolley street. give the chinese scholar a call, they may be doing yum cha. how good would that be?

bon apetit.

For something a bit different, the Canberra Bushwalking Club usually organises a BBQ/Picnic, recognising that a lot of members are single/family-less/from elsewhere. It used to be on one of the islands on the lake.

I did the Brassy in Barton a several years back and it was very nice

We are off to Flint in the Vines out at Shaw’s Vineyard at Murambateman – the menu sounds really good.

Heh. Are there any buffets where there are all you can eat prawns down here?
