This in for your consideration:

DRINK COFFEE – DO GOOD at Rocksalt Hawker, 39 Steps Café & Bar O’Connor and Gryphons Caffe & Bar

When you pop into Rocksalt, 39 Steps and Gryphons today and buy your favourite cup of coffee you can savour it even more knowing you are helping needy local charities. For every coffee sold, Rocksalt, 39 Steps and Gryphons will donate $1.00 to CafeSmart, an initiative of national grassroots organisation StreetSmart, which helps raise funds to tackle homelessness in local communities.

This is the second year that CafeSmart will UNITE cafes, coffee roasters, and coffee drinkers for a common local cause during National Homeless Persons Week. In 2011 CafeSmart raised $47,477 in one day to assist 38 local projects.

As StreetSmart CEO, Adam Robinson points out, grabbing a coffee and helping the homeless is something we can all do. “The support we have from these small businesses is fantastic. Cafes around the country have come together for a national day of action with a very local outcome. So on the 10th August make a special effort to visit a participating café, encourage your friends and work colleagues and enjoy your favourite brew or maybe 2,” he said.

Sarah Wilson, journalist, TV presenter and StreetSmart Ambassador added “CafeSmart is an up-close-and-meaningful way for cafés and their customers to connect with their local community to help people for whom a latte is a luxury. This initiative is direct and close to home…it will have a real impact on people’s lives.”

Rocksalt is located at HAWKER SHOPS and open from 7AM.
Gryphons is located at GRIFFITH SHOPS and open from 7AM.
39 Steps is located at O’Conner SHOPS and open from 7AM.
