Compo shagger denied on appeal

The Canberra Times has the happy news (and more deft work in blue from court reporter Jenna Hand) that the public servant who tried to get compo for injuries sustained while screwing on a work trip has been knocked back by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

The woman, whose name is suppressed, was in a country town for work purposes in 2007 when she and a man engaged in sexual activity in her motel room and pulled a glass light fitting from the wall.

It fell on the woman, injuring her nose and one of her teeth.

After the Australian Government’s workplace safety and compensation authority, Comcare, refused the woman’s claim, she sought a review of the decision in the AAT.

Such a pity we can’t know the woman’s name.

She should be named and shamed. Someone with enough front to pursue a bullshit claim like this deserves it.

Yes, am sure that would help along her suicidal thoughts no end. Did you read the whole article?

I call bullshit on the suicidal thoughts – more like acute embarassment.

+1, This is starting to sound like a weird menage’ a trois with her screwing her “work colleague” and him returning the favour resulting in her getting really screwed and now the Administrative Appeals Tribunal has stepped in to finish her off.

It’s bullshit claims like this which make it hard for the people who actually sustain a workplace injury. Name and shame I say.

She should look into working in the prostitution industry, next time she might actually win the compo.

I hope the hotel is suing her for the damage to their reputation and embarrasment at exposing their weak light fittings

I can’t believe she has put in a compo claim for this, seriously she should have just…copped it on the chin…

Oh, she probably copped it on the chin alright. What’s that old joke about Rock Hudson and tennis racquets?

It’s a good thing that the Comcare got a guy in that knew what he was talking about otherwise they would have been steamrolled. Caused by an activity that was “a frolic of own” is absolutely correct.

Half a dollar says she wasn’t an EL1.

The ones I know hadrly ever move, and wouldn’t be so energetic as to pull a light fixture off the wall.

She must be a real go-er.

next time she should try swinging from the ceiling fan instead
