Cotter Avenue to re-open this Saturday

Agree with c_c … it’s self-evident that no-one should be doing much more than walking speed there anyway. The road’s just fine. It’s a great spot.

Seriously I drove down there a month ago and the Avenue seemed as wide as it has always been, certainly wide enough that a bulky 4×4 could drive in the opposite direction to me with plenty of space to spare. And certainly if is thinner, it is not so much thinner that you have an appreciable decline in the response time to a child running out. You should be driving slowly anyway.

Should be a great day. Wind will abate and looks like a bit of sun for the first day of spring. Plenty of carparking and even a bus from Cotter campgrounds to the Avenue. The Avenue looks fantastic. Toilets work, bbq’s work, playground all spick and span, new bridge completes the Discovery Trail walk,and lots of grass for ball games. I will be around all morning to answer those tough water questions Riot-Actors always have, in between sausage sambos. Work will be happening on the dam 63metres up which is a good thing in itself. Starts at 9.30, speeches and opening about 10 and then a fun day thru till about 3pm. Be there.
