AAP, via News, is reporting that the Fairfax takeover of Rural Press (publishers of the Canberra Times) has been overwhelmingly approved by Fairfax shareholders.
Next step is approval by the Rural Press shareholders, some of which seem concerned that their regional media powerhouse is being absorbed by flabby Fairfax and they’ll miss out on the joys of a very nice AGM.
