Were you wondering what exactly they were building atop the Canberra Centre on Bunda Street?

If you thought it was more car-parks then, like me, you were wrong – thankfully. Think again. Something special this way comes. Dendy is about to deliver.

The Canberra Centre cinema complex is set to open a second level offering six new screens, bringing the total number to fifteen. This is big. More cinemas means more choice, more films, more sessions, and longer seasons. You get the picture. And now you can enjoy the pictures even more than before. Dendy, in the centre of the city, becomes Canberra’s biggest cinema centre. Not only the screens will offer views to remember but the new foyer will boast some panoramic vistas across the city. Also to be unveiled, a grand staircase to enjoy on your way up there.

To celebrate the occasion, Dendy is hosting the VIP Gala Opening Night Preview Screening of the raucous new comedy Rough Night, starring Scarlett Johansson in Lucia Aniello’s feature-film directorial debut following her work on Broad City, kicking off at 6:45 pm on Wednesday 14 June. You can still grab a premium lounge ticket to the event with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival at https://www.dendy.com.au/events/rough-night-110.

The celebrations don’t end there. Saturday June 17 will see screenings of six new films across the six new screens accompanied by wine tasting and canapés at 6 pm. On Sunday June 18, enjoy a family fun preview screening of Diary of a Wimpy Kid featuring face-painting and colouring-in activities.

Last but not least, there are prizes to be won throughout the week including Dendy Gift Cards so get online, book your tickets, drop in, and check it out.

Located on Level 2 in the North Quarter of the Canberra Centre, Canberra’s cinemagoers will be able to enjoy Dendy’s deluxe development from Thursday 15th of June.

New releases this week at Dendy are All Eyez On Me, Despicable Me 3, documentaries Kedi and Risk, Rough Night and the new Christian Bale historical drama The Promise.

Happy viewing!
