In that case couldn’t they have started the School Zone from before the beginning of the bridge where they might have had spare land to put the sign or build the path around the sign?
The sign does DOES look like it has a bit of a lean on it but it COULD be just the angle the pic was taken at.
Common sense isn’t very common these days.

you’ll probably find that the sign needs to be a minimum distance from the road, and the bridge rail is too far.

Badimara street and hindmarsh drive actually.

Perhaps when they open that part of the road they can give out free eye patches with give way and look to the right on them!

Your welcome…
It is not plumb! The photo is skew but it doesn’t look plumb.
@Gerry-built I know what I meant! But I do know what the word plumb means, I am a qualified electrician, I just get a bit dyslexic with words sometimes for some reason. This is the magic of Matt31221.
I am driving out to take a photo with a level on this pole as I live nearby, could you please post it JB when I have sent it?
I’m starting a business for eye-patches in toddler-friendly designs.
‘Yes, Melissa, you lost your eye to the school safety sign. That’s called eye-rony.’
This has been happening for longer than you think!

People mindlessly doing their individual little tasks in accordance with their little lists and their actual or perceived guidelines/regulations, without stopping to either switch on common sense or see the bigger picture. I once reported something to TAMS and other people probably reported it too so fortunately after a few hair-raising weeks it was fixed, but it was the sort of thing that the people who did it should have noticed straight away and said hey wait, this won’t work, better not proceed with this job until someone has a second look at it. But I guess it was no-one’s job to stop and think.
Claerly the location of this sign warranty a warning sign that states “Beware of Safety Sign”
At least if kids dodge the sign and get run over the government can say you were warned.

FYI: plumb=vertical; level=horizontal

At the intersection of Majura Road and Fairbairn Ave? You often see people wading through the grass around there.
I *should* be amazed. Regrettably I am not.

Ummm no it’s vertical. The photo has the tilt.
Not to mention that vertically levelled is, I suspect, pushing the boundaries of the language just a little far…
Bah that’s nothing, at least there’s a path, I’ve seen a pedestrian crossing that connects to nothing on either side of the road.
The sign isn’t even properly vertically leveled! It is miles out!
At least the car that runs you over when you step off the pavement to go around the sign will (hopefully) only be doing 40.
Idiots!
The sign is only temporary, however the road will take so long to build that they just concreted it into place.
