Skidbladnir has sent in this marvel of civil engineering one of the over passes on Tom Roberts Ave in Conder, just near St Clare of Assisi School.

Ummm no it’s vertical. The photo has the tilt.

Not to mention that vertically levelled is, I suspect, pushing the boundaries of the language just a little far…

Bah that’s nothing, at least there’s a path, I’ve seen a pedestrian crossing that connects to nothing on either side of the road.

At least the car that runs you over when you step off the pavement to go around the sign will (hopefully) only be doing 40.

Idiots!
The sign is only temporary, however the road will take so long to build that they just concreted it into place.

EvanJames 12:36 pm 19 Dec 11

Why couldn’t they just mount it on the handrail of the bridge? I imagine they had to dig up the concrete and re-do it…. jeez. Your taxes at work.

As long as they contract this guy to do the warning signs, I don’t see a problem with it.

It’s less obstructed than most of the footpaths around lyons. tempted to take a hedge trimmer with me for my walk to work…

breda 12:07 pm 19 Dec 11

Boy, you lot are harsh. They’ve left just enough room for a pedestrian to squeeze past on the traffic side of the footpath. Clearly, some thought has gone into this!

Wouldn’t like to try it in a wheelchair or pushing a pram, though.

If that is indeed the case; we have some idiots making some planning decisions… although the evidence of that is pretty clear in that photo anyway, isn’t it!?!

What JB said. I recently raised a road safety issue with TAMS, only to be told po-faced that it’s all completely legal and so will not be modified. Safety/commonsense be damned.

Can’t wait to find out what the bill to rectify this will be. I would take a stab at $2500-$5000… How the hell does crap like this happen?

Sgt.Bungers 10:42 am 19 Dec 11

Skidbladnir, Do you mind if I copy that photo for actroads.org?
