Heard on the radio this arvo that Tidbinbilla Bush Picnic Day has been cancelled due to total fire ban.

If you want something family-friendly to take the kids to on Australia Day 2010 (apart from BBQs with family and friends), there’s a round-up of local events at the Brindabella Baby blog – National Museum, official Australia Day stuff etc. You can also check out the National Gallery’s Masterpieces From Paris exhibition (not free, but cheap and educational). The Australian National Botanic Garden have the Replant: a new generation of botanical art exhibition on til 31 January, and it’s free. The Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House is also open on Australia Day, with cheap entry and educational interactive family activities. And “Blue in Red” are playing at the Botanic Gardens 6pm til 7:30pm on the Eucalypt Lawn.

Can’t forget about the Australia Day Live Concert.
