Last days for the Da Vinci Exhibition in Commonwealth Park.
It is really quite amazing. They have about 30 wooden models of Leonardo’s inventions, including pulleys, theatre lighting, a wooden tank, a bicycle, a mirrored room, chains as pulleys etc. Some of these were then not seen or re-invented for use until 300 years later. The man was a total genius.

About 15 of the models can be operated (eg – turn the handle of the flywheel or lift the weights on the pulley)

There is also a video reel of historic facts, and one kiddie activity of paper parachutes.

The exhibition is really good, but pricey – 50.00 a family, or 20.00 an adult. Kids over 3 will have to pay, although they are a bit young for it really. Kids over about 7 would probably love it.

And getting there is interesting – 100m walk from Regatta Point over wet grass and swan poo.

But – well worth a trip, something you probably wont’ get a chance to see again, and closing on Dec 12.
