So, other than tribal warfare in Garema Place, what’s worth doing this weekend in and around Canberra?

Share your wisdom with the tribe by posting in the comments.

Much appreciated.

Overheard, I had forgotten about the GCC Meet the Candidates night on Wed. What time does the hash thing finish? I will try to do both, but suspect I may not be able to make it. That is a shame because I can’t remember the last time I had any exercise.

*sigh*

Home again, home again. Man, there are some nutters on the road out there. Some ACT plates, but overwhelmingly NSW plates.

The team that’s been acing my quiz most weeks are otherwise occupied tonight, so if you want the chance to win some cash, prizes and have some fun, see above and I’ll see you when I’m looking at you.

Ok, I am coming on this HASH run, goshdarnit (only I shall be walking, of course. I do hope they wait for me …. )

Overheard, thanks for the offer but I won’t be joining the party. Have fun though.

I shall indeed. Though I’m ten thumbs and the internet access thing here is diabolical, which apart from late-submitted magazine articles and God, don’t even think about sending photos, and I’ve even set my browser to not show pictures so pages load faster, oh, and my consultant pal from the big global company still wants to know where we’re meeting in Brisbane on Tuesday morning — best be getting on to that….

For all of that, reduced capacity to logon and dial is not a bad thing.

Now, I did have a point: MeRinda street, Malua Bay. Weather here is superb: hasn’t stopped raining for over 12 hours. Love it. Yesterday was freaky mix of sun and sea mist.

News alert for upcoming date: (may have mentioned before) WACT Hash run from Zierholz, Wed 22 Oct at 6pm.

On out.

I like the sound of that whip-cracking. Ulladulla. So near and yet so far ….

*chuckle*

Dragon Dreaming festival out at Kowen Forest and Our House at Old Parliament House are big ticket items.

I hope someone has plans in Garema tonight — and takes their camera with. I can’t wait to see an emo riot. I hope it involves a lot of guys waddling awkwardly in their too-tight girl jeans and trying to sullenly throw things and start fights (which is much harder than it sounds, I imagine).

What’s with the extra spaces?

Long story, but not particularly interesting on either front.

Come to either event and I’ll explain all.

MBH3 run is at FOUR (4pm), by the by. If you turn up early, “Infallible” will keep you companny and offer you a beer. (Got to hydrate in this weather.)

What’s with the extra spaces?

Master Bateman’s Hash House Harriers at Malua Bay 3pm, 11 M e l i n d a Street, on Saturday. Might be wet and wild.

Quick theatre-wrap for the day:

– Rep’s production of Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” (that version of My Fair Lady which doesn’t have songs and does have more cynicism and wit) closes this weekend – performances Friday and Saturday night at 8, and a matinee on Saturday at 2pm at Theatre 3 – tickets $34/25 for evenings, $24 matinee

– Moonlight presents an evening of short pieces by the American modern masters David Mamet and Sam Shepard, in “Perfect Cowboys in Action” at the ANU arts centre – tickets $12/$15 at the door til Sat 11 Oct 2008

Daylight Saving begins Sunday 2AM. Watch out for terrorists . . .

Is that like terrorists on the road?

No, this refers to a post on another thread where somebody said that Daylight Saving promotes terrorism because the extra hour of daylight gives terrorists more time to plot and impliment their activities.

Speaking as a resident of that big long road the rest of you use to get to the beach, I’d appreciate it if there werent idiots on my street this weekend.
