DonateLife Walk 2011

Show your support for organ donation and encourage others to discover, decide and discuss their wishes at the DonateLife Walk 2011 – Canberra’s largest community event during DonateLife Week.

The walk kicks off from Regatta Point at 7am on Wednesday 23 February, and will circle around Lake Burley Griffin via the Kings Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue bridges. You can walk or jog at your own pace, and pets, children and friends are very welcome. There’s even a free community breakfast on the lawns of Regatta Point afterwards!

cleo, I don’t even think it is a matter of people considering donating their organs but rather informing all of their family members of their wish.
We have seen people who have filled in the ‘organ donation’ bit on licences etc only to be overturned in court by family members afterwards. (after their death)

We need to sit and talk to our families and tell them we are SURE and it must be done.
It is a horrible thing to talk about, so most people keep putting it off. (like wills and burial arrangements, noone wants to talk about them)
