In the Bell Shakespeare production of Macbeth last year (?) a woman next to us started texting. It really lit up the darkened theatre, and totally changed the atmosphere, which had been deliberately created as an important part of the play. We asked her to stop, and she did.

The films sound interesting.

That’s what I do as well. Others in the audience usually applaud my direct action.
The films will be interesting but I am sure Comic_and_Gamer_Terd will turn up with iPads and Kindles to prove his anti-social points.

You know, you might be right on this point. And yes, I have a source.

I will and do use my iPhone whenever I want in any situation. If this bothers you, then you need to go live on a deserted island where tech does not exist.

What sort of busy body moron gets offended by somebody looking at a phone? Mind your own business.

Why is it necessary to constantly look at a second illuminated screen while there is a big illuminated screen in front of you which is presenting something that you went to see? If you prefer to play with your phone (in your case, a penis extension) why bother to do it in a theatre?
Make sure you don’t try to use your toy if you are sitting next to me in a theatre and by all means, use your phone freely when you are driving your car because it doesn’t bother the busy body moron police.

What a incredibly silly comment on so many levels.

I’m not suggesting that this would be the place where you would show restraint however there are instances where some adherence to etiquette would be appropriate eg funerals, courts, important meetings etc.

Correct.

It’s really up to the house to set, and enforce, the rules on this sort of thing.

And please leave your bloody iPhones/devices/etc. in your bags.
Nothing more annoying to go to good (free) stuff like these movies and have half the audience play with their toys. It is very disrespectful to the hosts also but “respect” is no longer a value in this country.

Whatever, old man.

Respect needs to be earned first.

So people who learn how to act; people who learn how to write scripts; people who have the technical skills to create films for a global stage; the people who work as directors, producers, film crews and national film corporations, as well as the goodwill of visitors to our country who are providing artistic efforts as a gift …
Wow. Just wow. You are a hard marker if you can’t think there might be one idea in that lot to respect.

And so does intelligence or you wouldn’t have insulted the hosts ANCLAS and The Emabassy of Ecuador like that, pelotudo.

Exactly, df. There are some incredibly ignorant people out there, and they’re all not just Gen X either.
