Here I Am: Art By Great Women – Exhibition Avenue

When: Friday 20 November 2020 to Sunday 28 February 2021
Where: Exhibition Avenue, Kambri at ANU

As part of the Here I Am: Art by Great Women festival, this outdoor public art exhibition along Exhibition Avenue – Kambri’s newest cultural space – features 24 contemporary women artists from across Australia working in multi-disciplinary practices including street art, fine art, photography, and illustration. Decals placed on the ground in front of each artwork allow viewers an insight into the artist’s motivation, intentions and inspiration.

Behind The Lines: The year in political cartoons

On Friday, 20 November at 11:00 am, MoAD will launch the brand-new Behind the Lines: The year in political cartoons. With most of us still wondering ‘what the pup?’ just happened, the new exhibition will help us make sense of the dog’s breakfast that was 2020. The event includes the announcement of the Political Cartoonist of the Year and a Q&A with special guest Dr Karl Kruszelnicki who will give his take on the year that was.

The exhibition will be launched on Friday, 20 November, and be available for viewing for the next 12 months.

Interconnect by The Bindu Project

Interconnect is a sharing of movement and design exploring the connections between India and Canberra, moving from the 80,000 years of history of the land to the designs of Burley Griffin and the present COVID-19 restrictions upon and within the body. Join Liz Lea, Apsaras Arts Canberra, Vanaja Dasika, Ira Patkar, Debora di Centa and Rainbow for a delightful foray into classical Indian and contemporary dance viewed through the design of the body, place and space.

Canberra four-piece Tennessine channels the ethereal folk, roots, blues and dark country leanings of Mazzy Star, Neil Young and Lucinda Williams. Their beautiful, original songs deliver messages of love, loss and homage to Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Annette King’s She Leads In-Conversation will capture a candid conversation about what equal representation looks like, as well as her personal journey and the longevity and depth of leadership she has demonstrated throughout her career.
