With 2020 behind us, both Sultana and Hocking will be joining Blues Roulette for an interstate tour with James Southwell joining them for their Canberra show.

Jimi Hocking, aka ‘Jimi the human’ has a strong musical pedigree. Adept on Electric and acoustic guitar …also mandolin, Jimi has forged a unique musical path since the early 1980s. He has been a member of The Screaming Jets since 1993 and even did a stint with the Angels, and for many years has performed in his electric blues trio – Jimi Hocking’s Blues Machine, picking up a swag of awards along the way, including 2005’s IBC award in Memphis USA. Jimi’s shows are ripe with showmanship and his quirky sense of fun… not to mention over the top and behind the head guitar and mandolin playing.

Frank Sultana has been writing, recording, and performing his original brand of blues since his 2011 debut album, ‘Blues from the Lost Motel’. Since then, he has steadily worked his way onto the East Coast Blues scene, treading a well-worn path between Melbourne and Brisbane. He is a storyteller in the traditional sense, inspired by the greats like Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, and Mississippi greats Skip James and Son House.

James Southwell commands the stage like few others, with powering riffs and vocals that bite. James and his incredible band are truly world-class and would not be out of place on any stage anywhere. His music comes from a deep love of the blues with heavy inspirational funk and rock & roll influences.

This show promises to give even the most devoted fans of these artists a unique, one night only performance.
