Dick Van Dyke leads this classic musical as eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts. At the behest of his children, and after a few less-than-successful inventions, Caractacus rebuilds a once-famous race car, naming it ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’. In a fantastical sequence, Chitty transforms into a magical amphibious and flying vehicle and carries Caractacus, his children and candy heiress Truly Scrumptious (Sally Ann Howes) on a wild adventure.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a joyous family classic, based on a children’s book by none other than James Bond author Ian Fleming. This film was produced by Bond film franchise producer Albert R Broccoli, with a screenplay co-written by children’s author Roald Dahl.

‘…about the best two-hour children’s movie you could hope for, with a marvellous magical auto and lots of adventure’ – Chicago Sun-Times
