Everybody does the wrong thing on the road

By Barcham - 13 November 2013 39

One for both teams today!

These popped up on YouTube yesterday, both uploaded by the same user beerwah rigseismic.

Here’s a cyclist doing the wrong thing:

they like to be treated as equals on the road but this guy has his own ‘special’ rules.

And here’s a driver:

Long Gully Road, Canberra
Suburu with 5 occupants and double yellow lines, car is registered in NSW

I really don’t see an issue with the 1st one, who cares if the bike goes. If there are no cars coming and its safe. Even if he got half way to the island, waited then went. How many times do we see pedestrians do the same thing. But no ” Wont some please think of the children”

Yeah, the cars should have just driven through too “cause it was safe”, who cares about those pesky road rules.

How is a cyclist that different to someone jay walking both break the law but neither can kill a car. Both against the law but is it really worth the “outrage”. He’s not in anyone’s way.

And here’s a diver:

barcham needs flogging again – i see no diver (not even anything of the world game)

If you can’t see an issue with the cyclist breaking a red light, then you also won’t see an issue with motorcyclists using the cycle lane then?

It’s pretty obvious that policing this kind of behaviour is not government priority. It happens constantly on Canberra roads.

I’ve seen this on Long Gully Rd a few times.
Once the guy overtaking was himself overtaken …. at the same time!
They were 3 wide, heading down the hill!
F#%ktards.
I regularly get overtaken on double yellow lines on Mugga Ln.
The 70km/h limit is ignored by the majority of drivers.

Its another one of those stupid limits for the sake of looking like they are improving safety. The sooner we get rid of 70 and 90 limits the better. The road can probably handle traffic at 80, it used to be 80. The other issue is some people just don’t know what the speed limit is and drive at 60 or 80.

Yes people should be observant and look for the signs, but they don’t and those doing 60 IMO are equally as bad as those doing 80.

Both of them are douches.

Not as serious obviously, but did anyone else notice the mini nearly jump the lights in the first one and the car and trailer and the driver (with video) unable to stay off the shoulder in the second video?

Well, if you’re gonna get done for speeding, may as well ignore the double lines as well.

What an exciting life this person leads!

Yes, perhaps they could also film people taking 9 items through the 8 items or less at the supermarket? Would be equally thrilling to watch.

PS. If you’re wasting your life capturing and uploading this stuff then you could at least edit it down the relevant 3 seconds.
