If you have skin issues or are keen to relax and treat yourself, you’ll understand the value of a facial. A quality facial by a trained beauty therapist will make you look better and feel better. Facial specialists can help with all types of skin and skin challenges, including ageing, acne and dehydration. They also use reputable products.

In this article, we’ll outline the qualities to consider when choosing a facial specialist, and share where to find the best in Canberra.

What makes a great facial specialist?

Choosing the right salon and a great facial specialist can help you improve your skin hydration, feel and appearance.

It can be helpful to keep the following in mind when choosing a salon and facial specialist.

  • Specialised facials. If you have a specific skin concern, talk to your facial specialist about it so they can tailor your treatment.
  • High-quality products. The best facials use high-quality skincare products that help you look and feel your very best.
  • Training and qualifications. Beauty therapists in Canberra require a formal qualification at a technical and further education (TAFE) institute. This could include a Certificate III in Beauty Services. It could also be a Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. Check what training and experience your facial specialist has.
  • Clean treatment rooms. Hygiene is a top concern with beauty treatments. You’ll want neat and tidy treatment rooms. You’ll also want clean towels and facilities.
  • Atmosphere. If getting a facial means indulging in a little rest and relaxation, choose a beauty salon with a spa-like atmosphere.

Facial specialists are professionally trained to treat your face and body. They can help with skin issues such as dehydration, ageing and even acne. They can make your skin feel great and look radiant. They also provide relaxing, calming treatments.

Can a facial specialist help with severe skin problems?

Some can, but some might not be qualified. It’s best to check what the salon is expert at treating.

How much does it cost to have a facial?

The cost for a facial varies depending on many factors. This includes the type and length of the facial, with an express facial less expensive than a, deluxe facial. Cost can be influenced by the quality of products used. Other factors include the type of salon. Some have a more ‘working bee’ atmosphere. Others are luxury facilities with saunas and a pool.

What type of facial should I have?

A great facial specialist will start your treatment by examining your skin. Some use special light and other technical equipment for this. Once they’ve analysed your skin, your facial specialist will recommend the best type of facial.

I don’t think I’m easily pleased. If anything, I’m quite fickle and will take in to account even external factors like parking when I choose who gets my business. I like Stacey because she’s very professional and I get the results I want with her. Also, parking is plentiful and free.

I went to Defining Features in Deakin to get my skin ready for my wedding. It was luminous on the day. I couldn’t have been happier. And there’s heaps of free parking which immediately makes it better than Civic, Kingston and Manuka. Good luck! Let us know how you go.

Wow, you sure are easily pleased when it comes to choosing your beauty salon.
Anyway, there is plenty of free parking in Kingston.

Hi Sawyer, I have a beauty salon across from Green Square, in Kingston.
We offer two facials (Deep Cleansing Facial and All Inclusive Facial) that include extractions. A combination of ultrasonic extractions and the traditional manual extractions are used to get to best results. The ultrasonic device removes the minor impurities from the skin using high frequency vibrations to clear out congestion from blackheads etc, and anything left over is extracted manually. My clients love these facials, as they are very thorough and the results are immediately visible.
Look me up on the web and please come in or call up, if you have any questions.

I wondered, but wasn’t willing to google the word “Facial” at work.

Probably just as well…

Reminds me of an article I read about how language changes over time, musing that beauticians have gained the word Brazilian but lost the word facial.

Natural Beauty Centre in Civic. They do extractions.

FAB (face and body) in Kingston are pretty good.

It’s hard to find a good dentist-beautician these days.
Unless you meant brain through the nose, in which case, ancient Egypt is your best option.

What on earth does ‘extraction mean here…. teeth ?

I was wondering pretty much the same thing so I googled it. Apparently it’s something to do with extracting dirt or something from the pores of the skin. There seemed to be some contention on the vogue forum as to its effectiveness…

What on earth does ‘extraction mean here…. teeth ?
