ACT Policing has arrested a 27-year-old Narrabundah man after he stole a vehicle last night (Thursday, April 4).
Around 8pm a woman and her two children were in the car at Braddon Seven Eleven petrol station when the alleged offender approached them, demanding they exit the vehicle.
The family complied with the alleged offender, who drove away. The victim immediately contacted police. Nobody was injured during the incident.
Around 8.20pm police observed the stolen vehicle in Lyons. The alleged offender was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.
The man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving unlicensed. Police will oppose bail.
