The ANU Film Group is holding its annual trivia night on Saturday 11th September from 7pm at the Canberra Club (45 West Row, Civic). The Film Group is a community group that has been running in Canberra for over 40 years. The trivia night is its main fundraising event each year.

You don’t have to be a movie buff to come along and have some fun and be in the running for some cool prizes. There will be something for almost everyone!

Tickets are $15 and are available on the night. For more info you can check out www.anufg.org.au/trivia. Support this event to make sure that the Film Group can keep showing films that otherwise wouldn’t get a release in Canberra or costs a HEAP to see in the commercial cinemas!

Spooky.
Catty went to a trivia night a “couple of years ago” which would have been after the one in 2010 they are advertising now.

Perhaps this is all really on the Doctor Who thread?

necro comment or what!!!

The ANU Film Group is great! However, I went to one of their trivia nights a couple of years ago and it was a Very Bad Experience. I am a trivia buff, but not a movie one. Despite having been assured by the organisers that the questions would mostly be general, this was not the case. There was hardly a question or game that was not movie-based. What’s more, the theme was sci-fi films. Since I would rather eat glass than watch a sci-fi movie (and half the rest of my table was the same) this was quite a miserable night. Whilst I am delighted that people go to the considerable effort of organising trivia nights, I would urge you to consider this one carefully.
