florey dumping

Owen is outraged that illegal dumpers aren’t really trying:

There is probably 20 acres of parkland and powerlines next to Ginnenderra Dr at Florey, but some inconsiderate cretin manages to dump his garden waste right slap bang in the middle of the foot track.

The end of the world is nigh 🙂

Government public housing always have rubbish dumped at their bins, mostly from private owners of flats in the area.

What really pissers me off, is when people dump bags of things around the charity bins, these charities have to pay to have this removed, shame shame shame!

It’s actually been there for well over a week now. It’s not grass clippings, but actually removed tuff. It’s some wanker with a wheel barrow, that did it in small loads.

If they did it in a wheel barrow, then you could probably have followed the marks/dropped bits of turf, back to where it came from. Probably can’t after last nights rain though.

Grass clippings are a walk in the park compared to that big, steaming pile of crap.

Exactly… a bigger problem is b@astards dumping building waste/garbage. Some of the operators around the ACT are getting really slack. The other weekend my sister saw some truck driver goon dumping a load of rubble in spare block. Why anyone would be stupid enough to dump on a weekend when people are around is beyond me… it’s a recipe for being reported, which is exactly what happened!

Apparently it was hilarious to see the goon return & be forced to clean up his crap! Perhaps his wallet was lighter from a fine….

I imagine a number of people called the ACT Gov, because it was right on a busy walking trail, and it was gone the next day. Grass clippings are a walk in the park compared to that big, steaming pile of crap.

If I find dumped rubbish with identifying info (ie. business names, personal letters, etc) I report them to the cops straight away.

Nothing funnier than someone leaving their addressed mail in a pile of ilegally dumped rubbish… Idiots.

that’s nothing. Some bozo dropped like 10 years worth of garbage including old nappies, crockery, furniture and countless, countless beer cans down at calwell not that long ago. What’s more, there was a turd right next to this huge pile of crap – like the wanker who dumped the garbage got so excited he just had to let one go, right there and then.

Only a few clicks up the road is CSG’s greenwaste (off Parkwood Road) – where you can dump garden clippings for free…

maybe Florey is the new Charnwood…

When I took less than a car boot load to the CSG Greenwaste place in Mitchell there was a guy who was evaluating people’s car loads and then giving them a quote for mulching their green waste. He asked me for $5 and I told him that I was under the impression it was a free service provided by the ACT Government and that they make money from on-selling the woodchips. He accepted my green waste for free.

Wow. I just checked the TAMS website and the Mitchell operation is run separately from the Government scheme and does charge a nominal fee. I assumed they were run under the same arrangement.

Yup. Did they wheel it over in a wheel barrow, or did they have it in a trailer behind a car, but were to fµ¢ken’ lazy to drive an extra 5 minutes.

gosh – i’d collect that for mulch…. one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and all that…

I rake all my grass clippings back into the lawn. Over time it improves the soil.

Don’t grass clippings take 4 billion years to biodegrade? This sort of thing is the reason why our grandchildren won’t have an earth to inherit.

I know a small amount of grass trimmings enrages me so.

I mean, imagine having to veer slightly to the left to go around it!

can’t blame people for illegally dumping these days. the tip prices are insane. thought rates & services would take care of the rubbish for you
