The Brumbies have announced they’ve achieved a pre-condition of success in the Super 14, an unchanged side from week to week.
This is a good thing as this Saturday at Canberra Stadium they’re facing the mighty Canterbury Crusaders, the best New Zealand rugby has to offer.
It’s going to be a big game, and to add spice the players are donating half their match fees to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal, while Red Cross volunteers will be shaking the tin for the appeal at the ground. Also the Brumbies are going to donate $1 for everyone who turns up, and if the crowd exceeds 20,000 will throw in an extra $20k.
If you want to be a part of all the excitement we’ve got two spare seats with the RiotACT crew for the night. Email john@the-riotact.com with, in 25 words or less, why you should get the tix. Entries close 5pm Thursday 19 February.
UPDATED: WOOHOO! The NZ Herald brings word that Richie McCaw, Brad Thorn and Leon MacDonald have all been ruled out of the Crusaders side. If we can’t beat them now we never will.
ANOTHER UPDATE: Kazza has won the tickets with the following entry:
- I believe I should win the tickets because I have never seen a rugby union match before – I want to see what all the fuss is about 🙂
In other match news the Brumbies have announced that half of Saturday night’s fundraising effort is now going to the Balfour Family Trust.
Also Joe Roff is back in town working for the Nous Group and is going to be an “ambassador for the CA Brumbies’ Victorian Bushfire Appeal” for whatever that’s worth.
