Have you been consumed yet by rising anger?

The Voice Of America, no less, reports that anger is rising over the kangaroo cull taking place at the Army’s Majura training range.

Nikki Sutterby from the Australian Society for Kangaroos is particularly concerned about the damage being done to the ‘roos family groups.

To really balance the piece VOA have a picture from Victoria of a ‘roo with an arrow through its head.

Personally I’m sensing deep and intense dis-interest in the process.

Do you reckon these culled Roos could turn into Zombies ? Canberra already has a Zombie overpopulation problem.

Why does so much attention get paid to stupid hippies, who have never seen the damage that roos cause, who still think ‘oh look a cuddly kangaroo’ – and don’t realise that the animal is not at all bright, and is quite capable of ripping your stomach open? Approach with great caution, people, Mr Roo is not your friend.

As for the damage they do to cars and people on the roads, I’d love someone to sue the ACT government because the lack of control of the roo population makes it highly probable that needless vehicle and personal damage could be foreseen by a reasonable person. That would be very, very cool. Call Blumers, anyone?

Jesus, you’ve been watching far too much “World’s Most Dangerous Animals” on commercial TV!

Watch out for Cockatoos as well, they’ll rip your bloody arms off!

Craigandmonica et al I hope your knuckles don’t get too grazed as as you slouch down Canberra streets. Yes, I’m sure I’ve seen kangaroos waiting by the roadside, gleefully rubbing their paws together, only to launch themselves at the nearest car as they try to pull some helpless victim out to rip his/her stomach to pieces. Not!

The roos are obviously not being culled fast enough as I counted several new carcasses on Majura Rd today, presumably as an after effect of coming in contact with cars or trucks.

I love kangaroos. I’m still fascinated by the sight of kangoroos when I take a walk behind the hills.

But these anti-culling groups have obviously never been to parts of Australia where kangaroos are rampant, filled up the oval & playground with their roo poos so children could no longer play there. If the anti-culling group is very seriously about this, they should come up with a solution before it becomes unmanageable instead of making placards & whine.

The government should give a land to the anti-culling & roo-friendly group, herd all the kangaroos to that land to be taken care by the group. See if how long it takes before they cry, too many.

FANTASTIC IDEA!

On the other hand, the bastards in Defence who let the roo numbers get so out of control should suffer a long and painful death………

There used to be a time where you could draw a weapon or two and with the permission of the range officer go and cull roo numbers where they were getting too numerous. With so much going in their domain at the moment though the fate of roos in Australia is the last thing on the defence plate. They’re too busy making sure Australian people don’t die in foreign parts. They also have so many restrictions placed on what they can and can’t do by various interest groups that any action they want to take has to be checked and triple checked before anything happens. Invariably though even when they get the nod to actually take some sort of action another group pops up to tell them to stop again.

Also – it would be really, really bad PR for Defence.

The gun club is near by. Couldn’t they charge gun clubbers $20 to shoot a roo and actually make a profit? Woo! Moving targets!

Are people protesting this one like they did at Kaleen?

I would like to have seen the people who were complaining about the last one to have the option to move the kangaroos themselves if they want.
Would be cool to see them loading a buck kangaroo into a Prius or a Kombi and move them.
Would look like that Llama guy in the 121.

maybe we could cull the hippies too?

The SAS are a little busy in Afghanistnam at the moment, but I’m sure the Army could get a few Duntroon and ADFA cadets out with bayonets.

As long as the roos are being killed humanely, I am not getting too upset about this issue.

I’m angered by the waste of a training opportunity for Army snipers.

If they got the SAS to do it, then they have existing secrecy laws about SAS operations that would allow them to keep it out of the media, thus avoiding the public outcry issues.

Mostly I just want to be assured that the meat isn’t being wasted.

Done properly, skippy would have been minced into tucker for puppies before the hippies got out of bed.

White phos, air burst. Instant BBQ.

I am so consumed with rising anger that I just want to go out & shot a hippie protester. Can I get a permit to do that? As there isn’t enough greenery for all of them due to their numbers being to high. People this is a serious problem, think of the children, why won’t anyone think of the children.

Anger rising where? So a couple of salad eating, hair shirt wearing vegan knob-ends get their panties in a twist about the implementation of sensible government policy. Big deal.

meh. Kangaroos starving to death would provoke a far greater outcry. cruel to be kind is better than torture and misery.
