Hawker’s licences arsed up

By johnboy 10 October 2006 18

Bill Stefaniak has gone into bat for the new owner of Dolly’s food van.

The problem? Well three months ago the responsibility of hawker’s licences were transferred from the City Ranger’s Office in the Department of Municipal Services to the Office of Fair Trading in the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Only, as is the wont of public administration in the ACT, it’s been botched and now no licences can be issued, a fairly basic requirement of local government (as opposed to foreign policy).

What’s Your opinion?

The Stanhope Government’s ability to operate as a sucessful government is much akin to Benny Hill running Fernwood.

Do you know what time?

I think I’ll listen in.

Pandy 9:09 am 11 Oct 06

Well Nyssa it will be interesting to see how BG responds to the Ministers’ response on Friday.

Food fight!

nyssa76 8:59 am 11 Oct 06

Pandy, the administration people will know who I am. It’s too “on a need to know basis” info, to which I was party to.

BG fell behind in stuff like that last year, and blamed everyone else but themselves. Some of it had to do with basic safety issues with students.

I don’t need to go on the ABC and discuss it. I’ve see it before.

Hackett After school care used to run from the Gym/Hall (when I was a student there). So why the need for a “hut”? The gym/hall is big enough to accomodate and had a kitchen at the back (old canteen).

JACS can’t even find seats for it’s staff, let alone provide service to the public (who, incidentally, funds it). Many staff there are being told they are moving desks several times in the coming months, because of their new housing arrangements and management structure. It’s nothing more than government bureaucrats pretending they know something about business.

So why can’t you say nyssa76? Is it hearsay? Defamatory? They know who you are? BG publically stated on air yesterday that ACTPLA was to blame. The ABC said that they will talk to the Chief Minister (deputy) on Friday about it. Care to place a different slant to the ABC on it?

Look, I know stuff about Blue Gums (which I can’t state on here) and they aren’t all that good – well the administration isn’t.

Let’s just say it was BG that didn’t do the right thing.

Pandy 10:18 pm 10 Oct 06

I dont believe it, about hackett.

What about Blu Gums school. They have been there for 8 years trying toa get a permanent lease. The community wants it. But Govco says that the site is not suitable for a school! (Plans to redevelop?). So Govco has been telling Narrabundah residents that Blue Gums will be moving there soon. First that Blue Gums heard about it (they don’t want to anyway) and then when they investigated the Govco site was only half what they need.

LOL! That is the funniest thing i have read all day

Special G 7:53 pm 10 Oct 06

Is anyone surprised?

seepi 6:30 pm 10 Oct 06

This is just like the hackett primary afterschoolcare hut. One branch of act govt has told the school it needs to move 6m to be approved, another branch has told them not to move it until it gets written approval from the first lot for the new location. Which they won’t give til it moves. So it has sat unused for 9 months so far.

It’s George Dubya’s fault, with assistance from JWH

At least the world knows our position on Land Rights for the Gay East Timorese Whales.

And Stanhope’s administration come in to the clubhouse with another par score….

Mr Evil 4:01 pm 10 Oct 06

It’s the Commonwealth’s fault!

What a ballsup. You’d think that someone would have had the wherewithal to put in place a temporary agreement whereby the City Rangers continue to process applications on behalf of the new “owners”, billing their time to DJCS or whatever. I mean they’re all supposed to be on the same team aren’t they?
