Hazard reduction burn in Farrer tomorrow

By Barcham - 30 November 2013 0

From the ESA:

The ACT Rural Fire Service will be undertaking a hazard reduction burn on Yamba Drive, Farrer, tomorrow, Sunday, 1 December, 2013 from 9:15am, weather permitting.

Six heavy tankers, one medium tanker, three command vehicles and 35 personnel will conduct the burn.

The size will be approximately 3.4 hectares.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is K13.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
