Martin took some cracking HDR pictures down by the Lake yesterday afternoon amongst the storms.
For the photo buffs here are the settings:
Nikon D5000 Sigma 10mm
HDR – 3 frames EV1.3 – Photomatix merge
Processed Camera Raw layers in Photoshop to bring back highlights and details in the clouds
One soggy camera

Awesome photos.
On a side note, can anyone confirm that it’s the plaque that accompanies the globe sculpture that has a spelling mistake / grammatical error on it?
I remember someone mentioning it many moons ago but I can’t find reference to the text anywhere on the Interwebs.

Photomatix for the merge and Photoshop for the post processing – it says so in the post. I can understand how you missed it though as it’s inbetween to two cracking shots! 😉
😀 Great work, Martin! What software did you use to create the HDRs?
really cool photos!!
nice

Hah! Myst. I so didn’t get very far in that game. But I did wander around the island a lot…
Still got it.
That is beautiful – thanks John!! Very much appreciated 🙂

haha – you got me. Going back again in early January to get some pics without rain 😉
cheers all – if that’s not hi-res enough – I have the original file – which is just over 10Mb. I have actually never printed out any of my recent pictures, so would be curios to see one large 🙂
Man, the High-res version of that looks like something straight out of Myst or something. Awesome.
Hi res version:

Excellent work.
I want to pay good money for a print of the first photo to put on the wall.
Any chance you could ask Martin about the possibility of a high-res/print version?
Looking at the camera specs, I’d say that’s the same Martin who was with us on the #CSIROTweetup for the Mars Rover launch.
He takes wonderful photos. A great eye for composition and angle. He did great things with the big dishes at Tidbinbilla.
