Honour walk walks away

The cover story of today’s Times 2 bit of the CT (can’t find a link on their site) is all about Canberra’s honour walk, to be unveiled today (I think) and to include plaques for the Brumbies, the Raiders, Gus of Gus’, Philo, Rosemary Follett, AD Hope and various others. It’s on Anslie Avenue (that road between the Canberra Centre and Mt Ainslie) somewhere.

Now it was my understanding that we already had an honour walk, along London Cct, though it’s only had two plaques on it for the last five or so years. Did they move the walk entirely and relocate the existing plaques, or did they just forget that there was already one that needed adding to?

Well standby to have your horns swoggled:

According to that document, in 2001 it cost 260K plus for a walk of honour. Which in itself makes my bowels twitch, but to spend that amount again ?

Surely that money could be spent on a mungbean festival ?

The CM has put out a media release on this.

The whole thing is amazingly orwellian.

because the previous government started it everything must be torn up and begun anew.
